June 30, 2026
Babadağ rises almost 1,960 metres straight out of the Mediterranean above Ölüdeniz, and that wall of rock facing the sea creates one of the most reliable — yet most local — paragliding micro-climates in the world. A forecast taken even 30 km inland is close to useless here: what matters is how the cool sea breeze coming off the Blue Lagoon meets the warm air rising up the mountain face, and that interaction is unique to this single bowl of coastline.
Flights launch from three main altitudes depending on the day's wind and cloudbase — roughly 1,200 m, 1,700 m and the top at around 1,900 m. On light, stable mornings pilots use the higher launches for long, smooth sled rides; as thermals build through the middle of the day the lower launches and stronger lift come into play. The classic Ölüdeniz rhythm is calm air at dawn, a sea breeze filling in through late morning, thermals peaking in the early afternoon, and conditions smoothing out again towards the evening glass-off.
A genuinely good tandem day usually means a light north-westerly to westerly gradient wind, moderate but not violent thermals, a high cloudbase well above the summit, and no risk of overdevelopment (towering cloud that can shut the mountain down within an hour). When the gradient swings southerly or the wind strength climbs, the sea breeze and valley winds can fight each other and the safety margin disappears quickly — which is exactly why this page is regenerated every single morning rather than relying on a generic weather app.
The flying season on Babadağ runs roughly from April to November, with the most stable conditions in late spring and early autumn. The live briefing below is produced each morning by our flight director from Open-Meteo and Meteoblue thermal data, and every past day is archived beneath it so you can see how the mountain actually behaves across the season.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
We have textbook summer flying conditions today with gentle, perfectly oriented southwesterly winds and absolutely clear skies.
The optimal window for tandem flights is 14:00 – 18:00.
* Wind: Very steady from the Southwest (213°-249°), increasing gently from 3 km/h in the morning to 11 km/h by early afternoon, with maximum gusts peaking at a comfortable 19 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Morning CAPE peaks at 420 J/kg at 10:00 providing moderate, workable lift, dropping below 100 J/kg after 13:00 for incredibly smooth afternoon air.
* Cloud Base & Visibility: 0% cloud cover all day; expect "blue thermals" with unlimited visibility and no defined cloud base.
* Precipitation Risk: 0.0 mm of rain expected (0% chance of showers or thunderstorms).
Today is an absolutely perfect day to fly. The weather is giving us gentle breezes coming right up the front of the mountain, which means takeoffs will be smooth, easy, and require just a few steps. Once in the air, the skies are completely clear, offering you unobstructed, postcard-perfect views of the entire Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon and the surrounding coastline.
Because there are no clouds to block the sun, it will be very warm and bright up there. You can expect a beautifully smooth, relaxing glide, particularly in the afternoon when the air settles into a predictable, gentle rhythm. Make sure you apply plenty of sunscreen, wear sunglasses, and bring a big smile—Mother Nature is delivering ideal conditions for your tandem experience today.
* Wind Shear & Gradient: Exceptional cohesion in the airmass today. The numerical model shows near-identical wind speeds (max 11 km/h) and directions (SW) at both 1960m and sea level. Expect zero problematic wind shear; penetration and forward speed will be excellent all the way to the beach.
* Thermal Character: We are looking at a classic "blue day." The moderate CAPE spike (420 J/kg at 10:00) means thermals will have a little morning punch, but with 0% moisture, there is zero risk of overdevelopment. Expect pure blue thermals without visual cloud markers. Lift will mellow out significantly after 13:00 as CAPE drops below 90 J/kg.
* Performance Metrics: Cloudbase is functionally unlimited/non-existent due to dry air. Trigger altitude will be right off the SW-facing limestone ridges. Usable thermal window for altitude gains is between 10:00 and 13:00.
* Hazards & Gear: The major hazard today is high Density Altitude. The forecast predicts 28.8°C at launch (1960m ASL). This means the air is thin and hot—brief your passengers to expect a significantly longer, faster takeoff run before the wing bites. Standard tandem rigs; ensure you and your passengers stay hydrated.
Expect this stable, high-pressure summer pattern to continue, bringing another stellar day of blue skies and reliable afternoon sea breezes.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
We have an excellent forecast today with gentle, consistent southwesterly breezes and completely clear skies providing ideal flying conditions.
11:00 – 15:00
* Wind Speed & Direction: Base winds are light, ranging from 4 km/h at 09:00 to 11 km/h by midday. Direction is highly consistent, shifting slightly from West (265°) to South-West (207°-216°) for the remainder of the day. Max gusts will peak at a very manageable 19 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Very mild instability in the mid-morning (CAPE 70 at 10:00) will provide gentle, smooth lift, dropping to perfectly stable air (CAPE 0) from 12:00 onwards.
* Cloud Base: A completely "blue day" with 0% cloud cover. No cloud base will form.
* Precipitation Risk: 0.0 mm of rain with a 0% chance of precipitation.
Today is what we call a "picture perfect" flying day. Because the winds are gentle and blowing in exactly the right direction from the sea, your takeoff from the mountain will be an easy, few-steps jog. Once in the air, the flight will be exceptionally smooth, offering uninterrupted, crystal-clear views over the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon without any bumps or turbulence.
Because there are absolutely no clouds today, you will be exposed to direct sunlight for the entire flight. The forecast indicates unusually warm temperatures up on the mountain (approaching 29°C), meaning it will not be chilly during takeoff. Please wear sunscreen, bring sunglasses, and dress in comfortable summer clothing and sturdy running shoes.
* Wind Shear: The numerical model shows identical wind velocities and directions at both the 1960m launch and beach landing, indicating zero wind shear today. Airmass is uniform; expect a very straightforward descent profile.
* Thermal Character: Strictly blue thermals today. There is a slight bump in CAPE (70 J/kg) at 10:00 and (50 J/kg) at 11:00, which might provide a few mild, usable cores early on. From 12:00, CAPE drops to 0, killing overdevelopment risk entirely. Afternoon will rely purely on a stable, smooth, mechanical sea-breeze lift.
* Cloudbase & Window: 0% cloud cover means no defined cloudbase; expect blue thermals topping out relatively low due to the highly stable afternoon profile. Usable thermal window is brief: 10:00 to 12:00. Trigger altitude will be right off the SW facing ridges as surface heating peaks.
* Recommended Gear: Standard tandem kits. No heavy windbreakers needed today due to the high altitude temperatures.
* Hazards to Brief: Absolutely no meteo hazards. Brief passengers primarily on heat and sun exposure during the wait at launch.
Expect similarly safe, smooth conditions with sustained gentle southwest winds and clear skies carrying over into tomorrow.
Day 1 — Thursday, June 25: Rating: GO | Best window: 10:00–16:00 | Wind: 12 km/h [SW] | Perfect clear skies, steady sea breeze.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
Gentle sea breezes, zero precipitation risk, and a highly stable air mass will provide exceptionally smooth and safe flying conditions throughout the day.
The optimal window for tandem flights today is between 11:00 and 15:00 local time.
* Wind Speed & Direction: Base winds at launch will build from a light 5 km/h (NW) in the morning to an ideal 10-12 km/h from the Southwest (207°-239°) during peak hours, with maximum gusts of 21 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Extremely stable air mass (CAPE 0) will result in smooth, "blue" thermals with very little turbulence.
* Cloud Base Height & Cover: 0% cloud cover all day; true blue-sky conditions mean there is no defined cloud base to limit altitude, but also no visual cloud markers for lift.
* Precipitation Risk: 0.0mm of rain expected with absolutely zero risk of thunderstorms.
Today is an absolutely picture-perfect day to fly over the Blue Lagoon. Because the air is very stable and the winds are gentle, you can expect a "milky run"—a phenomenally smooth, gliding flight rather than a bumpy roller coaster. Without any clouds in the sky, you will have uninterrupted, stunning panoramic views of the Fethiye coastline from takeoff all the way down to the beach.
Because we have completely clear skies, the sun will be intense. Temperatures at our high-altitude launch are unseasonably hot today, reaching over 30 degrees Celsius even at the top of the mountain. You won't need heavy jackets; instead, please wear plenty of sunscreen, bring sunglasses, and drink a lot of water before we head up the mountain.
Today features an unusual and extreme forecast profile: the numerical data shows identical wind and temperature models at both Ölüdeniz beach (sea level) and Babadağ launch (1960m ASL).
Hazards & Gear: The most critical safety factor today is High Density Altitude. With temperatures hitting 31.5°C at 1960m ASL, the air will be extremely thin. Expect significantly longer takeoff runs and higher stall/landing speeds. Brief your passengers to keep running aggressively on launch and to expect a faster-than-usual flare on the beach. Standard summer tandem gear is recommended, but err on the side of larger glider sizes if you are heavy.
Wind Shear & Thermals: Zero wind shear is indicated between the surface and 2000m. The boundary layer is fully uniform, meaning extremely smooth, predictable penetration on glides. Thermals will be purely blue (0% cloud cover, no cloudbase ASL to reference). Expect gentle, wide, and smooth lift rather than punchy cores, with zero risk of overdevelopment (CAPE is 0).
Trigger & Window: Rock faces on the Southwest aspects will trigger reliably from 11:00. The usable thermal window is 11:00 to 16:00, after which the sea breeze begins to taper off and a very slight trace of instability (CAPE 20) appears near sunset, though it remains negligible.
Expect a continuation of this stable, high-pressure summer pattern with clear skies and reliable afternoon sea breezes.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
The forecast shows a classic, stable coastal weather pattern with light morning breezes transitioning into a very reliable, smooth southwesterly sea breeze with zero precipitation.
The optimal window for tandem flights today is 13:00 to 17:00 (Turkey Local Time), allowing pilots to utilize the established, smooth southwesterly sea breeze.
* Wind Speed & Direction: Morning starts light from the N/NE at 3-7 km/h, flipping at 11:00 to a steady SSW flow peaking at 12 km/h with maximum gusts of 23 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Smooth and wide thermals driven by high temperatures (up to 31.6°C), with virtually zero overdevelopment risk (CAPE peaks at only 30 J/kg).
* Cloud Base Height: Blue skies with maximum 4% cloud cover; effective cloud base is non-existent/above 3,000 metres.
* Precipitation Risk: Completely dry airmass with 0.0 mm of rain expected throughout the entire day.
Today is an absolutely spectacular day to fly from Babadağ over the Blue Lagoon. The morning starts with a very light breeze, and by midday, we get a highly reliable, gentle wind blowing off the Mediterranean Sea. This creates "textbook" gliding conditions, meaning your flight will feel incredibly smooth, stable, and relaxing from the moment your feet leave the ground until you touch down on the beach.
Because there are virtually no clouds and zero chance of rain, you will have uninterrupted, crystal-clear views of the coastline. However, it is exceptionally hot up on the mountain today—temperatures will exceed 30°C even at our highest summit launch. Please bring sunglasses, apply plenty of sunscreen, and drink plenty of water before we suit you up in your harness.
Today presents an excellent, low-stress operational day, but the extreme heat demands specific attention. The uniform forecast between the 1,960m launch and sea-level landing indicates negligible wind shear; the SSW anabatic sea-breeze circulation will penetrate deeply and establish fully by 11:00. Thermals will be wide and smooth ("blue thermalling" conditions) with CAPE topping out at an insignificant 30 J/kg. There is absolutely no risk of punchy thermals or Cu-Nim overdevelopment today.
Critical Hazard / Passenger Briefing: High Density Altitude. With launch temperatures exceeding 31°C at ~2000m ASL, the air will be incredibly thin. Takeoff runs will be significantly longer and faster than usual. Brief your passengers emphatically that they must commit to a sustained, aggressive run on launch and not sit down early. Heat exhaustion is also a risk for passengers waiting on the launch deck.
Flight Parameters:
* Cloudbase: Effectively blue, but thermal tops will naturally cap around 2,500m ASL due to the inversion layer.
* Trigger Altitude: Look for active triggers starting around 1,500m ASL on the standard SW rocky spines.
* Usable Thermal Window: 11:30 to 17:30.
* Recommended Gear: Standard tandem rig, but carry water in your harness for passengers if they feel dizzy in the heat post-launch.
Expect a near-identical day of classic, stable coastal breezes and high ambient temperatures perfect for commercial flying.

Today is going to be a spectacular day to fly over Ölüdeniz! The weather conditions are perfectly aligned for smooth, comfortable tandem flights. In the morning, the air will feel remarkably still and gentle, providing a serene glide down to the beach. As we move into the early afternoon, the sun will warm the mountainsides, creating invisible updrafts called "thermals." This means afternoon flights might feel a bit more dynamic—like a gentle boat ride on rolling waves—which allows us to stay in the air a bit longer and climb higher for even better views of the Blue Lagoon.
It is going to be exceptionally hot today, even up at the launch site nearly 2,000 meters above sea level. You will not need the heavy jackets we sometimes recommend; instead, please wear comfortable summer clothing, apply plenty of sunscreen, bring sunglasses, and drink lots of water before your flight. Your pilot will handle all the technical details, so all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Today presents classic, high-pressure summer conditions at Babadağ. The morning starts with light NW katabatic/synoptic flow (308° at 4 km/h), likely requiring forward launches until about 10:30. By 11:00, a highly predictable anabatic WSW/SW sea-breeze establishes (248° backing to 216°), holding steady at around 10 km/h with completely manageable 19 km/h gusts. Wind shear between launch and the LZ is virtually non-existent today, making for a very straightforward glide.
Thermal character will be very smooth until noon (CAPE 0-170 J/kg), becoming distinctly punchier and more organized between 14:00 and 16:00 as CAPE peaks at 420 J/kg. Overdevelopment risk is very low, but expect some late afternoon cumulus build-up over the higher peaks inland as cloud cover increases to 33% by 18:00. Cloudbase is estimated well above launch, likely around 3,200m ASL given the intense 29°C temperatures at 1960m.
* Usable thermal window: 11:30 to 16:30.
* Trigger altitude: ~1,400m ASL on the lower western ridges.
* Recommended gear: Standard summer kit; hydrate heavily.
* Passenger hazards: Heat exhaustion on launch. Brief passengers to stay in the shade until clipping in.
Expect a near-identical day with light, reliable afternoon SW sea breezes, though slightly higher afternoon cloud cover may limit late-day thermaling.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
Gentle southwesterly sea breezes, clear skies, and zero precipitation make for excellent and highly predictable flying conditions today.
The safest and smoothest 4-hour window for tandem flights today is 14:00 to 18:00 (Turkey Time), as the mid-day thermal instability settles into a consistent, buoyant sea breeze.
* Wind: Very light and consistent, starting at 4 km/h from the West (270°) and shifting to the Southwest (220°) at 9 to 11 km/h, with peak gusts of 19 km/h.
* Thermals & Cloud Base: Strong thermal activity mid-day (CAPE peaking at 860 J/kg), but extremely dry air means cloud base will be well above launch, estimated at 2,500+ metres. Cloud cover remains below 26% all day.
* Precipitation: 0.0 mm of rain expected, with a 0% chance of thunderstorms.
Today is a picture-perfect day to fly over Ölüdeniz! The weather is fully cooperating, offering us gentle, consistent breezes that make taking off from Babadağ Mountain effortless. With virtually no clouds in the sky, you are guaranteed uninterrupted, breathtaking views of the Blue Lagoon and the Mediterranean Sea from launch to landing.
If you are flying between 11:00 and 14:00, the sun will be heating the mountain, creating natural updrafts called "thermals." This makes the air feel a bit more dynamic—like a gentle rollercoaster—and allows us to fly higher and longer. If you prefer a calmer, glass-smooth ride with softer evening lighting, an afternoon flight after 15:00 is your perfect choice.
* Wind Shear: The top-to-bottom wind profile is exceptionally uniform today (4-11 km/h SW at both 1960m and sea level). Expect negligible wind shear and a very straightforward penetration on the glide out to the beach.
* Thermal Character: Morning anabatic flow will be smooth, but thermals will become punchy and energetic mid-day as CAPE spikes to 860 J/kg between 11:00 and 13:00. Overdevelopment risk is virtually nil due to the dry airmass (0-2% cloud cover mid-day), meaning thermals will be strong but unorganized.
* Performance / Gear: Density altitude is very high today. With temperatures hitting 26.9°C at 1960m, expect slightly longer and faster takeoff runs. Standard tandem wings are fine, but ensure passengers are hydrated and wearing sunglasses.
* Hazards: Brief mid-day passengers on active flying and potential motion sickness due to thermal turbulence.
* Thermallers: Cloudbase is theoretically >2500m ASL. The main usable thermal window is 10:00 to 15:00. South and Southwest facing rocky ribs will act as primary triggers from 10:30 onwards.
Expect a continuation of this high-pressure system, yielding another fantastic day of light sea breezes and blue skies.

Today is an absolutely picture-perfect day for paragliding from Babadağ Mountain! The wind is blowing gently from the southwest, which is the exact direction we want for an easy, safe, and comfortable takeoff. With almost completely clear skies for most of the day, you can expect uninterrupted, breathtaking views of the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon and the Mediterranean Sea as soon as your feet leave the ground.
If you are flying with us in the morning, you might feel a few gentle, boat-like rises as our paragliders catch warm, uplifting currents of air. These are completely normal and often allow us to extend your flight time. If you are booked for the afternoon, the air settles down completely, offering a deeply relaxing, glass-smooth glide all the way down to the beach. It is a brilliant day for first-time flyers, so sit back, listen to your pilot, and enjoy the ride.
Today presents a highly unusual but favorable completely homogenous airmass, with identical forecasted wind speeds (5-11 km/h SW), directions, and temperatures at both the 1960m launch and the beach landing zone. Wind shear is effectively zero today.
Thermals will be reliable but mellow, peaking between 10:00 and 12:00 with CAPE around 390-410 J/kg, creating smooth, usable lift without punchy edges. Overdevelopment risk is non-existent as CAPE crashes to zero after 14:00. Cloudbase sits high at ~2,600m ASL. Expect trigger altitudes around 1,200m on the southwest-facing limestone ridges. The usable thermal window closes abruptly around 13:30; flights after 14:00 will be extended sled rides.
Recommended gear & hazards: Standard tandem setups are perfectly fine. No wind or turbulent hazards exist today. However, take note of the abnormally high temperatures on launch (peaking at 27.8°C at 1960m); brief your passengers to stay hydrated before donning flight suits, and be prepared for slightly longer takeoff runs in the thin, hot air.
Expect a continuation of high pressure, delivering another day of light, highly flyable southwesterly sea breezes and clear skies.

* Cloud Base Height: Skies are almost completely blue (maximum 9% cloud cover); effectively unlimited/blue thermals today with any trace moisture sitting well above 3000 metres.
* Precipitation Risk: 0.0 mm of rain and absolutely zero risk of thunderstorms.
Today is a spectacular day to fly at FLYSPOT. The weather gives us a "magic carpet" day—meaning the winds are gentle, hitting the mountain from the absolute perfect direction, making the takeoff steps very easy. With brilliant blue skies and nearly zero clouds, you are guaranteed uninterrupted, breathtaking views of the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon and the Mediterranean from launch all the way down to the beach.
Once in the air, the flight will feel exceptionally smooth and relaxing. Because the atmosphere is very stable today, we are not expecting any of the sudden lifts or drops that can occasionally cause motion sickness. It is unusually warm today, even up at the mountain peak, so we highly recommend applying sunscreen and wearing sunglasses, though a light windbreaker is still smart for the steady breeze you'll feel while flying.
* Wind Shear Analysis: Negligible. The forecast indicates an entirely uniform column of air with consistent SW flow from 1960m all the way to the LZ. Expect a straightforward, predictable penetration to the beach.
* Thermal Character: Extremely smooth and suppressed. With CAPE firmly at 0 and high temperatures aloft, there is zero overdevelopment risk. Expect weak, blue thermals capped by a likely temperature inversion.
* Specific Hazards (Density Altitude): Pay close attention to the extreme temperatures at launch (26.0°C to 28.2°C at 1960m). This high heat results in a significantly elevated density altitude. Brief your passengers thoroughly that they will need to commit to a longer, faster run on launch before achieving lift-off.
* Recommended Gear: Standard tandem wing setups. Light clothing for pilots, but ensure passengers are hydrated before arriving at launch.
* Cloudbase: Blue thermals / effectively unlimited (>3000m ASL), though you likely won't reach it due to the stable profile.
* Trigger Altitude: Weak triggers expected around 1200m ASL on the sun-baked SW limestone ridges.
* Usable Thermal Window: 11:30–14:30, though expect mostly extended sled-runs rather than high-altitude soaring today.
Expect a continuation of this high-pressure system, delivering another day of clear skies, hot temperatures, and gentle sea breezes perfect for tandem operations.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
We have ideal, gentle southwesterly breezes, clear skies, and highly stable atmospheric conditions ensuring a perfectly smooth day of flying.
09:00 – 13:00
* Wind: Gentle SW winds (217°–253°) blowing squarely onto the main takeoff at 5–11 km/h, with peak afternoon gusts reaching a very manageable 21 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Very weak thermal activity due to an extremely stable airmass (maximum CAPE of 10 J/kg), meaning lift will be smooth and gentle rather than punchy.
* Cloud Base: Mostly clear skies (0% cloud cover) through the morning, with scattered fair-weather clouds peaking at 43% coverage around 15:00. Cloud base is expected to be comfortably above launch at 2,200m+.
* Precipitation: 0.0 mm of rain expected and zero risk of thunderstorms today.
Today is what we call a "glassy" day in paragliding. Because the air is exceptionally stable and the winds are light, your flight will feel incredibly smooth, much like gliding in a calm elevator. If you have been nervous about turbulence or sudden drops, today is the absolute perfect day to fly. The morning hours will offer crystal-clear, uninterrupted views of the Blue Lagoon.
It is going to be exceptionally warm up on the mountain today, with temperatures at the 1,960m launch pad matching the beach at a balmy 26°C to 27°C. You will not need heavy winter jackets; sunglasses, sunscreen, a light windbreaker, and comfortable running shoes are all you need. If you fly in the mid-afternoon around 15:00, you can expect some beautiful, fluffy white clouds floating around the mountain, making for fantastic photos.
* Wind Shear Analysis: Forecast models indicate a completely uniform airmass from sea level to 1,960m. Wind direction (217°-253°) and velocities (5-11 km/h) are identical at launch and landing, meaning zero wind shear. Penetration to the beach will be effortless all day.
* Thermal Character: Extremely stable. CAPE is flatlining between 0-10 J/kg. Do not expect strong, punchy cores. Lift will be very weak and smooth, requiring flat, efficient turns. Zero risk of overdevelopment.
* Cloudbase & Trigger Altitude: Cloudbase will sit around 2,200m ASL in the afternoon. Triggers will be working best off the standard rocky spines facing the SW sun, typically firing from 1,700m upwards. Usable thermal window is narrow, likely best between 11:30 and 14:00 before the upper-level moisture moves in.
* Recommended Gear: Standard tandem kits. Light summer flying suits.
* Hazards to Brief: None significant. The extraordinarily warm temperatures at altitude mean density altitude is higher than usual—expect a slightly longer, faster run on takeoff before achieving lift-off. Ensure passengers are briefed to keep running until well clear of the launch deck.
Expect similarly stable, gorgeous summer weather tomorrow with gentle sea breezes continuing to provide excellent tandem conditions.
Day 1 — Tuesday, June 16: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–14:00 | Wind: 10 km/h [SW] | Smooth, sunny, and perfect for morning flights.
Day 2 — Wednesday, June 17: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–17:00 | Wind: 12 km/h [WSW] | Gentle sea breeze, excellent visibility all day.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
Today offers perfect, predictable Southwest anabatic winds, zero precipitation, and smooth air from launch to landing.
The safest and smoothest window for tandem flights today is 09:00–13:00 Turkey local time.
* Wind Speed & Direction: Launch winds start at a gentle 5 km/h (WNW) at 09:00, shifting to an ideal SW direction and building to a peak of 15 km/h with gusts to 28 km/h by 15:00.
* Thermal Quality: Extremely stable air mass today. Expect very smooth, weak "blue" thermals with virtually no turbulence.
* Cloud Base Height: 0% cloud cover means an unlimited ceiling today with pure blue skies; no cloud base to report.
* Precipitation Risk: 0.0 mm of rain and remarkably low CAPE (peaking at 150 J/kg) means a 0% chance of rain or thunderstorms.
If you are flying with us today, you have picked an absolutely stunning day to experience Babadağ and the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon. The weather is picture-perfect. Because the air is very stable today, your flight will feel incredibly smooth—more like floating on a gentle magic carpet than riding a rollercoaster.
Interestingly, the air temperature at the top of the mountain is nearly identical to the beach today, hovering around an unseasonably warm 25°C to 27°C. You will not need heavy winter jackets for your flight today. A light windbreaker, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen are all you need to comfortably enjoy the world-class views over the Mediterranean.
Today is a classic, ultra-stable Ölüdeniz day. Forecast models show an identical wind profile and temperature profile from the 1960m launch down to the beach. Wind shear is practically non-existent as the entire air column is moving uniformly.
The temperature data indicates a massive isothermal layer/inversion holding from sea level to 2000m (temps stable at ~25-27°C top to bottom). Thermal character will be extremely smooth but weak—purely blue thermals. Expect buttery sled rides and easy ridge lift rather than punchy XC conditions. There is zero risk of overdevelopment; CAPE is negligible and moisture is non-existent (0% cloud).
* Cloudbase: Blue / Unlimited ASL.
* Trigger altitude: Sea level (purely solar/anabatic driven today).
* Usable thermal window: 13:00 to 16:00 for the best chance to maintain altitude, though lift will be soft.
* Hazards & Gear: No major atmospheric hazards. Peak gusts at 14:00-16:00 hit 26-28 km/h, which is well within tandem wing operational limits but might require slightly more active ground handling on launch. Ensure passengers are hydrated, as the launch area will be exceptionally hot for this elevation.
We expect this dominant high-pressure system to hold, bringing another excellent day of clear, stable, and safe flying conditions on Monday.
Day 1 — Monday June 15: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–14:00 | Wind: 12 km/h [SW] | Smooth, blue skies and gentle thermals.
Day 2 — Tuesday June 16: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–16:00 | Wind: 14 km/h [SSW] | Excellent sea breeze setup, very safe.
Day 3 — Wednesday June 17: Rating: MARGINAL | Best window: 08:00–11:00 | Wind: 22 km/h [W] | Increasing afternoon gusts may suspend flights.

🟡 WEATHER MARGINAL — flights may operate subject to on-site assessment
While base wind speeds are exceptionally gentle and ideal for takeoff, dangerously high atmospheric instability (CAPE) presents a severe risk of explosive cloud overdevelopment and unpredictable turbulence by midday.
09:00 – 11:00 (Turkey Local Time)
* Wind: Very light base winds starting at 4 km/h (270° West), shifting to Southwest (230°) and peaking at 13 km/h in the afternoon, with gusts up to 23 km/h.
* Thermal quality: Extremely energetic and potentially hazardous; CAPE values ranging from 1220 J/kg to 1790 J/kg indicate aggressive, punchy lift.
* Cloud base & cover: Cloud cover spikes violently from 9% at 09:00 to 100% at 11:00. Cloud base is estimated around 2800 metres ASL but will become erratic due to convective suction.
* Precipitation risk: Model indicates 0.0 mm of rain, but the extreme instability brings a very high risk of sudden dry microbursts, virga, and unpredictable gust fronts.
If you are booked for an early morning flight (before 10:30 AM), you can expect a fantastic, smooth glide. The winds at takeoff are very gentle, and the morning sun will provide clear, beautiful views over the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon. The air during this early window will be stable and comfortable for first-time flyers.
However, as the mountain heats up toward midday, the atmosphere becomes highly charged and unstable. This energy will create very large, fast-growing clouds over Babadağ and turbulent, bumpy air ("punchy" thermals) that can cause motion sickness. For your safety, we will not fly if these large clouds develop as forecast. Be prepared for significant delays or cancellations for afternoon bookings; we will never compromise your safety just to get a flight in.
Wind Shear & Profile: The numerical model shows an anomalous zero-gradient wind profile between the 1960m launch and beach landing (both showing exactly 4-13 km/h throughout the day). Do not trust this lack of shear; with CAPE this high, expect highly localized valley wind acceleration and erratic sea-breeze convergence zones.
Thermal Character: Thermals will be aggressive, sharp, and punchy. The CAPE values (1220 climbing to 1790 J/kg) are massive for this region. Trigger altitude will be low, starting around 1200m ASL on the sun-facing rocky ridges.
Hazards & Overdevelopment: There is a severe risk of rapid overdevelopment (OD) and cloud suck, heavily correlated with the 100% cloud cover spike at 11:00. This is a classic dry-convection day where 0.0mm rain can still yield violent microbursts and gust fronts at the landing zone. Usable thermal window is strictly restricted to the 09:00–10:00 block. After that, keeping a massive vertical clearance from cloudbase (estimated 2800m ASL but effectively lower due to convective suction) is mandatory.
Gear & Briefing: Ensure your speedbar is connected and functional for escaping cloud suck. Brief your passengers thoroughly on rapid descent maneuvers (spirals, big ears) and the physical g-force sensations, as you may need to deploy them aggressively if you get caught under a rapidly building cumulus congestus.
We expect atmospheric instability to clear out overnight, bringing a return to stable, standard sea-breeze conditions with smooth afternoon thermals.
Day 1 — Sunday, June 14, 2026: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–17:00 | Wind: 10 km/h [SW] | Stable air, excellent flying conditions all day.
Day 2 — Monday, June 15, 2026: Rating: GO | Best window: 10:00–16:00 | Wind: 14 km/h [W] | Smooth sea breeze, perfect for afternoon thermaling.
Day 3 — Tuesday, June 16, 2026: Rating: MARGINAL | Best window: 08:00–11:00 | Wind: 22 km/h [S] | Increasing southerly winds, likely blown-out afternoon.

🟢 FLIGHTS OPERATING — conditions are safe for commercial tandem paragliding
Winds are light, well within safe operational limits, and perfectly aligned with our primary takeoffs under clear skies.
13:00–17:00 (Turkey Local Time)
* Wind at launch: Gentle base winds of 4-11 km/h, with peak gusts reaching 21 km/h at 14:00, steadily tracking from West (265°) to South-West (205°).
* Thermal quality: Highly unstable morning air (1600 CAPE) will produce punchy lift, but a strong afternoon inversion drops CAPE to 0, killing thermal activity for a buttery smooth afternoon.
* Cloud base height: 0% cloud cover means unlimited visibility with no defined cloud base today (completely blue skies).
* Precipitation risk: 0.0mm of rain and 0% chance of precipitation throughout the entire day.
Today is a picture-perfect day to fly over the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon. With completely clear skies, zero chance of rain, and very gentle breezes, you can expect stunning, unobstructed views of the coastline. The temperatures will be warmly comfortable even high up on the mountain, so you won't need heavy winter layers today—just sunglasses, sunscreen, and a windbreaker.
Because of how the sun heats the mountain, your flight experience will depend slightly on your booking time. If you fly in the morning, you will likely feel a few "bumps" as we pass through rising warm air columns (thermals). By the afternoon, the atmosphere stabilizes completely, offering what pilots call "magic air"—an exceptionally smooth, relaxing, and gentle glide all the way down to the beach.
Wind Shear Analysis: Negligible wind shear today. The wind profile shows near-identical speeds and directions from the 1960m launch down to the LZ at sea level. The steady shift from 265° to 205° will perfectly support the South and Southwest takeoffs.
Thermal Character & Hazards: We have a "loaded gun" setup in the morning that will fizzle out. A high morning CAPE of 1600 J/kg paired with 0% cloud cover and zero moisture indicates extremely dry but highly unstable air. Expect strong, sharp, and potentially turbulent "blue thermals" between 09:00 and 11:30. Because there are no clouds to mark the lift, head-on-a-swivel is mandatory. Warn morning passengers that the air will be punchy. By 12:00, CAPE crashes rapidly toward 0, and temperature data indicates a massive stabilizing inversion taking hold. Overdevelopment risk is zero. Afternoon flights will be dead-smooth sled rides.
Cloudbase & Triggers:
* Cloudbase: N/A / Unlimited (Blue thermal day).
* Trigger altitude: Expect reliable early triggers around the rocky spines at 1200m–1500m ASL, shutting down almost entirely by 13:00.
* Usable thermal window: 09:00–12:00.
* Recommended gear: Standard kit, but ensure you and your passengers have UV protection due to extreme solar radiation today.
We expect a beautiful continuation of today's stable summer weather with light anabatic sea breezes and crystal-clear skies.

🟡 WEATHER MARGINAL — flights may operate subject to on-site assessment
While wind speeds and directions are nearly perfect, exceptionally high atmospheric instability (CAPE > 2000 J/kg) early in the day poses a serious risk of severe turbulence and explosive cloud development.
14:30 – 18:00 (Turkey local time)
* Wind: Highly favorable and gentle, shifting from West (270°) in the morning to Southwest (216°) for the afternoon, with base speeds of 3 to 10 km/h and maximum gusts of 18 km/h.
* Thermal Quality: Thermals will be highly energetic and punchy due to extreme atmospheric instability, with CAPE peaking at 2160 J/kg at 09:00 before gradually easing to a more manageable 980 J/kg by 18:00.
* Cloud Cover & Base: Morning moisture (42% cloud cover) will burn off entirely to 0% by 13:00; due to the unusually hot surface temperatures at altitude, cloud base is estimated high at approximately 3200 metres ASL.
* Precipitation Risk: Forecast models show exactly 0.0 mm of rain, though the extreme morning instability carries an unstated, isolated risk of dry microbursts if clouds overdevelop before noon.
Paragliding relies on invisible rising currents of warm air, called thermals, to stay aloft. Today, the atmosphere is holding a massive amount of energy. This means those invisible air currents will be "boiling" quite vigorously, especially throughout the morning and midday. If you fly during these times, you should expect a very bumpy, roller-coaster sensation rather than a smooth, glassy glide down to the beach.
Your safety is our absolute priority at FLYSPOT. Because the air is so energetic today, our flight directors will be evaluating the sky minute-by-minute. We have identified the late afternoon as the smoothest and safest time to fly, as the atmosphere naturally calms down. If we delay or reschedule your flight today, please know it is simply to ensure you get the most comfortable, enjoyable, and safe experience possible over the Blue Lagoon.
Wind Shear Analysis: The data model shows a highly unusual isothermal boundary layer with identical wind/temp profiles at the 0m landing zone and 1960m launch. Consequently, mechanical wind shear is virtually zero today (speeds hold steady between 3-10 km/h, gusts max 18 km/h).
Thermal Character: Extremely punchy and aggressive prior to 14:00. A CAPE of 2160 J/kg at 09:00 combined with 42% cloud cover is a massive red flag for explosive overdevelopment, severe updrafts, and cloud suck. Do not underestimate the lift today. The cap appears to strengthen in the afternoon (clouds drop to 0%), preventing deep convection, but cores will remain sharp.
Cloudbase & Triggers: Base is projected very high at 3200-3500 metres ASL due to the hot airmass (27.1°C at 1960m). Primary triggers will fire rapidly right off the 1700m and 1960m South/Southwest faces. Your safest, most usable thermal window is late in the day (after 14:30) as CAPE drops below 1300 J/kg.
Gear & Specific Hazards: Use standard tandem wings but maintain extreme active-piloting vigilance. Passengers are at a very high risk of motion sickness today due to the sheer turbulence; pre-flight them honestly, fly with accessible sick bags, and avoid lingering in strong cores.
Atmospheric instability is expected to finally break, resulting in lower CAPE values, smoother thermal profiles, and classic Southwesterly breezes for excellent tandem operations.
Day 1 — Friday June 12: Rating: GO | Best window: 09:00–18:00 | Wind: 12 km/h [SW] | Smooth thermals, perfect classic conditions return.
Day 2 — Saturday June 13: Rating: GO | Best window: 08:00–17:00 | Wind: 15 km/h [SW] | Slightly stronger breeze, excellent predictable soaring.
Day 3 — Sunday June 14: Rating: MARGINAL | Best window: 08:00–12:00 | Wind: 24 km/h [W] | Increasing afternoon winds, high risk of blowout.
When conditions are right our certified pilots fly 6 times daily from 07:00. Hotel pickup from Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü and Çalış included.
