SIV & Rental FAQ
Everything pilots ask about SIV training, life jacket rental and equipment rental in Ölüdeniz.
SIV Training
WHAT IS SIV TRAINING?
SIV (Simulation d’Incident en Vol) training teaches pilots to react correctly when the paraglider is disturbed in flight. Collapses, stalls and spins are practised on purpose, safely over water, with experienced instructors guiding every recovery.
DOES FLYSPOT GIVE SIV TRAINING?
Yes. FLYSPOT gives SIV education with exceptionally talented instructors who speak excellent English and have years of expertise. Every manoeuvre is briefed on the ground, flown under radio guidance and debriefed after landing.
HOW MUCH DOES SIV TRAINING COST?
SIV training with FLYSPOT costs 200 € per day, flying from Babadağ in Ölüdeniz.
IS BABADAĞ REALLY THE SAFEST PLACE FOR SIV TRAINING?
FLYSPOT calls Babadağ the world’s safest place to do SIV training: you launch up to 1965 m and land at sea level, so every manoeuvre is practised with an enormous altitude reserve, over water, with a rescue boat and a life jacket on every pilot.
WHERE DOES SIV TRAINING TAKE PLACE?
SIV training runs over the water in Ölüdeniz, Fethiye, with a rescue boat on station for the whole session.
DO I NEED EXPERIENCE FOR SIV TRAINING?
SIV courses fit licensed pilots who already fly regularly and want to make their reactions automatic. Tell us your level when you book and we will match the course to you.
DO I NEED MY OWN PARAGLIDER?
No. Equipment rental is available for your course. Ask about gliders, harnesses, radios and life jackets when you book.
Life Jacket & Equipment Rental
CAN I RENT A LIFE JACKET FOR SIV TRAINING?
Yes. FLYSPOT rents life jackets for SIV training for 5 € per day. Book one with your course, collect it at the Ölüdeniz office before your first flight and hand it back after your last one.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE LIFE JACKET OPENS?
If the life jacket is ever opened, we repack it for 60 €. The repack includes new tubes and a fresh water cartridge, so the jacket is tested and ready for the next flight.
WHAT DOES THE 60 € REPACK INCLUDE?
The 60 € repack includes new tubes and a fresh water cartridge: the jacket is dried, re-folded, fitted with the new parts, packed and checked.
WHAT ELSE CAN I RENT FOR A SIV COURSE?
Besides life jackets, ask us about gliders, harnesses and waterproof walkie-talkies for your course. Tell us what you need before you arrive and we will have it prepared.
IS THERE A DEPOSIT FOR RENTALS?
Ask us when you book — we will explain everything clearly before you travel, with no surprises.
