Babadağ: The World's Safest Place for SIV Training
The Altitude Reserve That Makes Babadağ Different
SIV training is only as safe as the air beneath you. On most SIV sites around the world, pilots launch from low hills and train at a few hundred metres. At Babadağ you take off from up to 1965 m and land at sea level on the beach — every collapse, stall and spin is practised with an enormous reserve of real altitude below your feet.
Training Over Water, With a Boat and a Life Jacket
Every SIV flight with FLYSPOT ends over the water, with a rescue boat on station for the whole session and a life jacket on every pilot. If a landing goes into the lagoon, you float and wait for the boat — that is why FLYSPOT calls Babadağ the world’s safest place to do SIV training.
What the Babadağ Setup Gives You
- Launch points from 1200 m up to 1965 m, chosen by wind on the day.
- Landing on the wide beach at sea level — no trees, no rocks, no obstacles.
- Manoeuvres flown over the lagoon with radio guidance and a rescue boat.
- Life jackets on every pilot — rent one for 5 € a day, or bring your own.
What Does a SIV Course Cost?
SIV training with FLYSPOT costs 200 € a day. The day includes the briefing, the flights, radio guidance from your instructor and the debrief after each flight. Life jacket rental is 5 € a day, and if the jacket ever opens, the 60 € repack includes new tubes and a fresh water cartridge.
