What Is an Underwater Scooter?
An underwater scooter — also called a sea scooter or, in the case of the original, a Seabob — is a hand-held electric watercraft that pulls you through the water. You hold the handles, squeeze the throttle, and it glides you across the surface or down beneath it. Unlike a jet ski, it is small enough to keep on a yacht, silent enough to use in a quiet bay, and submersible enough to free-dive with. The Seabob F9 can dive to a settable limit of up to 25 metres, and the F5 series is rated even deeper, to 40 metres.
