Fethiye Paragliding: Tandem Flights from Babadağ

Fethiye Paragliding: Tandem Flights from Babadağ

Fethiye paragliding means a tandem flight from Babadağ, the mountain above Ölüdeniz, about 14 km south of Fethiye town. We collect guests from Fethiye and Çalış hotels, drive up to the launch, and land on Belcekız beach. The flight takes 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the thermals; allow two to three hours in total.

Is the flight in Fethiye or Ölüdeniz?

The flight is in Ölüdeniz. Fethiye is the nearest city and the main hotel base, but the launch site, the landing beach and the paragliding offices are all in Ölüdeniz, at the foot of Babadağ.

That distinction matters when you book. A "Fethiye paragliding" ticket usually includes a pickup in Fethiye town or Çalış and a drive south to Ölüdeniz. If you are staying in Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü or Ovacık, you are already at the flight area and the transfer is much shorter.

How far is Ölüdeniz from Fethiye?

Ölüdeniz is about 14 km from central Fethiye. The road climbs through Ovacık and Hisarönü before dropping down to the coast, so the drive takes 20 to 30 minutes even though the distance is short.

Starting point Distance to Ölüdeniz Typical drive Notes
Fethiye town centre About 14 km 20–30 minutes Dolmuş every 10–15 minutes in summer
Çalış Beach About 20 km 30–35 minutes On the west side of the bay; pickup crosses town
Hisarönü About 4–5 km 10 minutes by dolmuş On the mountain road above Ölüdeniz
Ovacık About 5–6 km 10–15 minutes On the same road, before Hisarönü
Dalaman Airport About 55–65 km 70–90 minutes Private transfer; public bus about 2 hours via Fethiye

Distances are road distances from local transfer and municipal transport guides. Summer traffic in July and August can add time, especially around Fethiye town.

Do you pick up from Fethiye hotels?

We pick up from hotels in Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, Ovacık, Fethiye and Çalış. Pickups from Fethiye and Çalış need a little more notice because the drive is longer.

Send your hotel name and the date by WhatsApp before you book. We will confirm whether the pickup is included, where the nearest meeting point is, and what time the driver will arrive. If your hotel is outside the usual zone, we will tell you before you pay.

What the day looks like

Step Time What happens
Pickup 30–60 minutes before your slot Driver collects you from the hotel or a nearby meeting point
Office or direct drive 10–20 minutes Drop bags, meet the pilot, complete the flight card
Drive to launch 30–40 minutes Road or cable car up Babadağ, depending on the package
Briefing and setup 10–15 minutes Harness fitting, helmet, takeoff instructions, weather check
Flight 20–45 minutes Launch, glide over the Blue Lagoon, land on Belcekız beach
Return 15–30 minutes Photos, transfer back to the hotel

The drive up is part of the day. It is a steep, winding mountain road, and the cable car is the smoother option if you get carsick. Tell us before the day if motion sickness is an issue.

Where to stay if paragliding is the main event

Ölüdeniz is the obvious base. You are walking distance from the landing beach, the offices and the cable car base, and you can watch the wings come down while you have breakfast.

Hisarönü and Ovacık are quieter and slightly cooler, with restaurants and budget hotels, and they are only 10 to 15 minutes from the flight area. Fethiye town has the widest choice of hotels, the marina and the market, but you add 20 to 30 minutes each way on flight day. Çalış is good for a beach holiday but is the least convenient base for an early flight.

What it costs

The price depends on the launch height, the season, whether you want photos and video, and whether the transfer is included. Our winter 2026–27 price is US$150 per person, all included. Third-party platforms listed standard Ölüdeniz tandem flights at roughly US$110 to US$260 in late 2026.

When to book

May, June, September and October are the easiest months for availability and comfortable weather. July and August need several days' notice, especially for morning and sunset slots. Winter flights run on suitable days but are more likely to be cancelled by wind or rain.

Frequently asked questions

Is paragliding in Fethiye or Ölüdeniz?

The flight itself is in Ölüdeniz, about 14 km south of Fethiye. "Fethiye paragliding" is the common search term because Fethiye is the city and hotel hub.

How far is the drive from Fethiye to the launch?

About 20 to 30 minutes from central Fethiye to Ölüdeniz, then about another 30 minutes up Babadağ by road. Cable-car packages replace the mountain road with the cable car.

Do you pick up from Fethiye hotels?

Yes. We pick up from Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, Ovacık, Fethiye and Çalış. Send your hotel name when you book so we can confirm the pickup time.

How long does the whole trip take?

Allow two to three hours from pickup to drop-off. The flight is 20 to 45 minutes; the rest is transfer, briefing and photos.

Can I do it on a day trip from Fethiye?

Yes. A morning slot leaves the afternoon free for the beach or a boat trip. If you are on a tight schedule, book the earliest slot and keep a backup day for weather.

Is it worth doing from Fethiye?

If you are already in Fethiye, the transfer is short and the flight is the same Babadağ flight that draws people from across the coast. The view over the Blue Lagoon is the reason to go.
