Book Ölüdeniz Paragliding: How the Process Works

Booking a tandem flight in Ölüdeniz takes a few minutes: choose a date and time slot, send your hotel, weight and age details, pay a deposit or agree to pay on the day, then confirm the weather the evening before. Flights run in fixed slots from morning to late afternoon, and wind can cancel any of them.

How booking works, step by step

1. Choose a date and a slot. Morning is smoother; afternoon is livelier; sunset is photogenic. Pick the time that matches your stomach and your schedule.
2. Send the passenger details. Full name, age, approximate weight, hotel name, room number if you have it, and a WhatsApp number.
3. Confirm the price and inclusions. Ask whether transfer, insurance, park entry and photos are included. Get the total in writing.
4. Pay a deposit or agree to pay on the day. The deposit holds the slot. The balance is usually settled at the office.
5. Confirm the weather. Message the evening before or on the morning of the flight. If the wind is wrong, the flight moves or cancels.

How far ahead should you book?

In the shoulder months, two or three days' notice is usually enough. In July and August, book several days ahead, especially for the first morning slot and the sunset slot.

Our own booking page recommends booking at least four to five days before the flight and says you can call if you have less than 24 hours. That is the claimed policy, not a guarantee. If you are flying on your last day, book early and keep a backup morning.

What time slots are available?

Our daily slots are 07:00, 09:00, 11:00, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30. The exact slot also depends on the launch the pilot chooses and the number of flights that day. Confirm your pickup time when you book, not from a web page.

What information we need

If you are booking for a group, send the full list in one message with each person's weight and age. Group bookings need more notice because the operator has to match pilots and wings.

Deposit and payment

Most Ölüdeniz operators take a small deposit to hold the slot and collect the balance on the day. With Flyspot, a US$10 deposit holds your slot and the balance is paid on the day. The accepted payment methods are confirmed when you book.

Pay only through the operator's official link or at the office. Do not send money to a guide's personal account or to a beach tout who cannot show an agency permit.

What happens if the weather cancels?

Weather is the most common reason a flight does not happen. The pilot may move the launch, delay the slot, or cancel for the day.

If the weather cancels your flight, you get a 100% refund, deposit included, or you can move to another slot. If you leave the next day, book an earlier day so a reschedule is still possible.

On the day

• Arrive 30 minutes before your slot if you are meeting at the office. Pickup is usually 15 to 45 minutes before the slot, depending on your hotel.
• Bring closed shoes you can run a few steps in. Sandals and flip-flops are not suitable.
• Leave loose items behind. Phones, keys, coins and cameras may be stored at the office or handed to the pilot.
• Use the toilet before the drive. The mountain road is long and facilities at the launch are limited.
• Eat a light meal an hour or two before. Do not fly on an empty stomach or after a heavy meal.
• Tell the pilot if you are nervous. They can keep the flight smooth and skip the acrobatics.

Can I book for today?

Sometimes. Same-day bookings depend on free slots, pilot availability and the weather. WhatsApp the operator with your hotel and the number of passengers and you will get a yes or no quickly. Do not drive to Ölüdeniz first and book at the beach; the good slots are usually gone by then.

Can I book for a cruise day?

Yes, if your ship's time in port allows it. Fethiye port is about 15 km from Ölüdeniz, and the flight plus transfers takes two to three hours. Keep a buffer of at least an hour before all-aboard, and book the earliest slot of the day. If the ship's call is short, stay in Fethiye and watch the paragliders from the beach instead.
